Following an enjoyable talk to the Corbridge Women’s institute on Monday I am delighted to say that I am happily enjoying holiday cottage life with Julia and the dogs for a one week blitz on special trees across the region!

Already discovered the attached amazing Ancient Sycamore in St Marys Churchyard, Holystone with image of the same tree in 1900 which was then already a significant specimen.

Keep your eyes pealed to the gallery page and website map for many more additions!!

Our Aim

The aim of this project is to identify, map and celebrate Ancient, veteran, heritage and notable trees across the regions of Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland. By so doing we will help to conserve and protect these trees for generations to come and enable our children and indeed our children’s children to also enjoy the pleasure and benefits that they provide.
